The cold weather is coming! Time to get prepped!

Because who doesn't love to look at adorable nurseries!?

Wall Art and Wall Decals

My first response to a wall decal is that they are perfect for kids rooms and nurseries! Since kids are constantly changing what they love it's a great way to decorate a room that's not permanent but also doesn't require you to repaint and accessories their rooms multiple times!

A great modern living room. The wall pattern was created with square wall decals! Square/Diamond wall decals from CozyWallArt.com

But I will say I am pretty impressed with some of the options I've found that aren't necessarily just meant for children! Wall Decals are a great option for those who are renting and can't paint their walls as well as for people who just aren't interested in painting!

Simple and elegant love wall decal featuring a heart detail from Cozy Wall Art.

Quotes are a common when it comes to wall decals but sometimes you can find that perfect one that fits your style and gives your wall a touch of personality.

Love with this dahlia inspired, modern wall decal. The flower wall decal would be a great faux headboard. Wall sticker at CozyWallArt.com

My favorite wall decals are ones that look like artwork and not even like decal at all! This is a great option instead of spending a pricey amount on a piece of wall art. You can find these great decals at Cozy Wall Art.

A simple and elegant cherry blossom branch wall decal. Elegant wall art for your home decor. Vinyl wall sticker from http://cozywallart.com/

I love that this one makes a statement piece for a headboard. It looks as though it could be one major art piece as a headboard instead of just a wall decal!

Show Your Decor: Lisa D'Amato's Modern Nursery

FREE IMAGES
Lisa just had her baby Daxel, and about 3 months ago Vanessa De Varges was hired to decorate her baby's nursery. Her and her husband live in a castle located in the Hollywood Hills - doesn't sound to shabby...

For the room Vanessa chose four basic colors red, gray, black and white - perfect for a little boys room! She wanted the room to have a modern feeling to it with out all the cutie baby stuff. This way the room can be used for years to come with out having to move things out or replace the look. She chose art that was more modern and vintage circus prints that they blew up and framed for the room.

The walls are all black (its got a slight purple tone to it so its not too harsh on the eyes) and the ceiling and upper walls are painted bright white. Because she chose so many bright colors in the room and accents in white, including the rug, the room doesn't appear to look small, if anything her decorating tricks make the room feel bigger and more spacious.

All the furniture, bedding and storage came from Land of Nod, the paint from Valspar and the flooring from Lumber Liquidators. The window treatments came from The ReRack Gals and the lighting came from Ikea (they did not donate), fabric from Premier Prints and most of the artwork came from different designers on Etsy were all sponsored for the Lisa's baby's room.

Don't forget to submit your own show your decor and get your showcased on Decorology!

Happy Friday Everyone!  I thought you'd enjoy this gorgeous home, which is not only decorated in a modest, but still elegant way, but also has some great architectural bones.

Enjoy!

Not to pick on Lonny Magazine, but is anyone else just a little bit tired of seeing every photo so over-exposed?

Homeowner Estee gives a great design tip:  "I prefer to consider everything in terms of color, texture, and pattern, rather than in terms of period or origin.  If you concentrate on the color of a piece, rather than whether it's Venetian or bohemian, it's much easier to blend different styles into a single room"

Love the white on the walls and headboard with the gray wash of the wood dresser

This is such a sweet room for a little girl, and it will grow with her with just a few simple changes

Nurseries normally don't turn my head, but this one is so serene and calm.
